Dan Costa Trio Ft. Somesh Putcha and Sasha Gavlek
Dan Costa is an award-winning jazz and world music pianist and composer known for his
profound musical expression and melodic sensibility. His musicality and original
compositions have led him to play with some of the most respected names in jazz such as
Ron Carter, Randy Brecker, John Patitucci and Mike Stern amongst others. Dan’s work has
garnered attention such as the gold and silver medals at the Global Music Awards and
received high praise from Down Beat Magazine and All About Jazz. Having toured
extensively internationally, Dan Costa now returns to perform in Australia touring his newest
album Beams (2023).
He will be joined by Telugu-Australian drummer and composer Somesh Putcha, recipient of
the ABC Jazz and Classic Composer Commission 2024. Somesh has subsequently
released his debut album “Ever Playful”, touring the album in Australia and Taiwan. Dan will
also be joined by bassist Sasha Gavlek, a prominent musician of Nipaluna Lutruwita (Hobart,
Tasmania). Sasha released their album “On Second Thoughts” in 2022 and has opened for
five-time Grammy Award winner, Samara Joy in 2025.
