A circular living event showcasing sustainable and waste-free gardening.

Harvesting Connections is a hands-on, welcoming day for anyone curious about food, gardens and community — whether you grow a full backyard, a few pots on a balcony, or simply care about where your food comes from.

Following on from the Big Day of Circular Living Ideas in 2025, this event brings the focus to food and gardens as powerful tools for connection, resilience and climate action.

Across the day you’ll find:

Practical demonstrations and workshops for home and community food growing.

Conversations and talks that make big ideas accessible and grounded.

Activities for all ages, backgrounds and experience levels.

Opportunities to explore plastic-free gardening and more sustainable growing practices.

Space to connect, share ideas and feel part of something bigger.

Together we’ll explore how gardening can:

Reduce waste
Improve soil, air and water quality
Support climate resilience
Encourage sharing, generosity and community care

The event takes place at Kickstart Arts, St John’s Precinct, a vibrant community hub that lives and breathes sustainable values — right next door to a thriving community garden and native plant nursery.

Come for an hour or stay all day. Bring your curiosity, your questions, your kids, your neighbours.

Everyone is welcome — no gardening experience required.

We are thrilled to announce that this year’s event is proudly supported by a grant from the City of Hobart.
